New splendour
in old walls
The Hotel Bauer Palazzo will shine in new splendour and welcome its guests with a new concept of style and convenience: more than half of the 111 rooms will be transformed into suites, including a presidential suite.
Great importance will be given in every detail, to ensure that the restoration of the existing building will meticulously preserve the elements of the historical structure. The distinctive façade and the interior staircase are being restored and in future there will be a total of 111 rooms (of which approximatively 60 suites). The culinary offer will continue to be the hotel’s pride and joy: a bistro, a deli shop with a wine bar as well as a café with a breath-taking terrace on the ground floor, a restaurant, and a cocktail bar on the seventh floor, where guests will be served and seated in a typical Venetian rooftop terrace with a magnificent view over Venice.
Furthermore, the newly restored Palazzo will also include an outdoor pool with a bar and an Italian rooftop garden with an incredible view over the city, which could be used also for events. It is also planned to open an exclusive wellness facility and a gym as well as a luxury retail space at Campo San Moisè.
Location & History
Hotel Bauer Venice is located in the heart of Venice, directly on the Canal Grande near St. Mark’s Square. The building can already be found on old maps dating back to 1500. It was first opened as a hotel in 1880.
In May 2020, SIGNA Prime Selection AG took over the Hotel Bauer Venezia from the US investor Eliott and managed it with 160 employees until November 2022. Then, the implementation of the concept for the general redevelopment started with the aim of becoming the top destination of Venice’s ultra-luxury hotels after the reopening in 2025.
SIGNA’s portfolio already includes luxury hotels in Vienna (Park Hyatt Vienna and ANdAZ Vienna am Belvedere), in Lech am Arlberg (Chalet N) and on Lake Garda (Villa Eden Luxury Resort).
